Haru Takauchi Concert/Clinic

Goodguys Music is excited to announce an upcoming concert/clinic on April 16th Wednesday 7PM featuring renowned Jazz guitarist from Japan, Haru Takauchi.

Haruhiko "HARU" Takauchi, is an accomplished composer and guitarist who has played with many Jazz greats such as Wayne Shorter, Stanley Turrentine, Paul Motian, and Jaco Pastorius. At present he is focused on his self led trio. Born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, Japan, Haru graduated from the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. He moved to New York in 1980 where he started is jazz career. In 1984 he and his band “HIKO BAND" released their self titled debut album, followed by “Galactic Odyssey" in 1990 on Capital/EMI Records, which was also used as the soundtrack for a TV science program collaboration created by NHK and the BBC. In 1992 "Galactic Age" was released in the US on Blue Note Records. He has since released albums on King and Polystar Records in Japan. Haru has also done numerous compositional work, such as "Black Sun" for NHK and ANGASHOUKEI - A Poem, Visual Art and Music piece. He has also written two instructional books titled “Advanced Jazz Guitar" and "Jazz Guitar Concept" available from the Sinko Music.

Haru currently stays very busy performing in Japan and New York.
